Securepoint Firewall for Businesses

Firewall and UTM solutions from Securepoint – planned, deployed, and optionally supported on an ongoing basis by your WSV Systemhaus.

Who is it for?

Companies with multiple sites, mobile employees, or growing network security needs who no longer want to rely on a router's default settings.

A firewall is no longer a device you set up once and then leave running unattended in a server cabinet. New threats, additional cloud services, mobile workplaces, and network changes call for a solution that is regularly updated, monitored, and adapted to actual needs.

  • Does your internet access still rely on a router's default settings?
  • Do mobile employees or multiple sites access your network without proper controls?
  • Do workstations, servers, guest Wi-Fi, and technical systems still share a single, unsegmented network?

More than just a barrier between your network and the internet

Securepoint offers firewall and UTM solutions for companies that want to control access to the internet, connections between sites, and access from mobile employees. Depending on model and license, a Securepoint solution combines several security functions in one centrally managed platform: controlled handling of inbound and outbound connections, segmentation of network areas, encrypted site-to-site connections, secure remote access, detection of suspicious activity, and central management of rules and access. Which functions are actually enabled depends on your protection needs and the agreed scope of service.

Clean network segmentation instead of one big shared network

In many networks that have grown over time, workstations, servers, printers, phones, and technical systems all share the same network – making it easier for a fault to spread. We plan a clear structure together with you, for example separating workstations, servers, guest Wi-Fi, VoIP telephony, and management access, and define which connections between these areas are permitted.

Secure access for sites and mobile employees

For access while on the road, from home, or between multiple branch offices, we plan and configure the required VPN connections. Existing VPN access is not simply carried over during a migration: we check which access is still needed and whether outdated site connections or former users can be removed.

High availability for critical internet access

If a single firewall is the central connection between your company, the internet, and remote sites, it becomes a potential point of failure itself. For correspondingly critical environments, a firewall cluster of two cooperating systems can make sense – though it doesn't replace a second internet line or redundant power supply. Read more in our guide on firewall clusters and high availability.

Securepoint or a different solution?

As a vendor-neutral advisory IT company, we look beyond the manufacturer to operating effort, security requirements, existing know-how, and future development. Our goal isn't the biggest possible firewall, but a solution that makes sense for your business. On request, we then take over ongoing support as a Managed Firewall.

Frequently asked questions

Can an existing firewall configuration be carried over?

Many rules can technically be recreated. However, we don't carry over existing rules blindly – we review them together with you. Old rules, unused VPN access, and unclear exceptions should be cleaned up before or during the migration.

Does internet access need to be interrupted during the changeover?

A maintenance window is usually required for the actual cutover. Its duration and impact depend on the existing infrastructure – the migration is prepared so the interruption stays as short as possible.

Does a Securepoint firewall replace antivirus on individual devices?

No. A firewall protects and controls network connections but doesn't replace managed protection on PCs and servers. Both layers complement each other as part of a multi-layered security concept.

Is a firewall cluster automatically fully failure-proof?

No. A cluster reduces the impact of a single firewall system failing. Internet connectivity, switches, power supply, and cabling can still be individual points of failure and need to be considered separately.

Does WSV also handle ongoing support?

Yes, on request as a Managed Firewall – monitoring, updates, and adjustments then run within the contractually agreed scope.
