What goes into the assessment
Eight questions on the areas that determine how expensive an incident becomes when things go wrong: data backup, tested restores, two-factor authentication, security updates, endpoint protection, firewall maintenance, staff training and an IT emergency plan.
You answer each question with yes, partly or no. Not all questions count equally: data backup, tested restores, two-factor authentication and security updates carry more weight than the other four, and a "partly" earns partial points. The total gives you a result out of a maximum of 20 points.
How to read the result
Below 45 percent of the possible points, the check indicates a low level: basics are missing that would matter immediately in an incident. Between 45 and 80 percent the essentials are in place, but visible gaps remain. From 80 percent upwards there is a solid foundation – which means "well on track", not "done".
More telling than the score are the individual "no" answers. Each one is a concrete line on your to-do list.
The limits of this estimate
Eight self-assessment questions cannot replace an audit. The quick check evaluates what you yourself know about your IT – not whether the measures named are technically implemented the way you assume. It is a non-binding initial estimate and replaces neither individual consulting nor a professional review of your systems.
What happens to your answers
