Switch IT providers – a clear plan with WSV
Looking to change your IT support? We plan the handover of your existing environment with you, with clear responsibilities, a structured transition, and a suitable support scope.
Start with the IT you already have
From Bad Camberg, we support businesses in Limburg-Weilburg, the Taunus region, and Rhine-Main. When you switch, we first look at your existing environment and your business requirements.
You receive an overview of the planned transition, responsibilities, and proposed scope. This helps you assess the work and costs before placing an order.
Five steps to your new support arrangement
Clarify your situation and goals
We discuss what is not working well, which applications matter to your business, and what support you need in future.
Review the existing setup
We record systems, contracts, licences, access credentials, and available documentation. We identify missing information and agree how to obtain it.
Organise the handover
With your authorisation, we coordinate the required information and handover with your current provider. Responsibilities, dates, and outstanding tasks are documented.
Take over support
At the agreed time, we check the transferred access, set up the agreed monitoring, and establish contacts and reporting channels. Necessary changes are scheduled in suitable maintenance windows.
Improve step by step
After the handover, we prioritise identified weaknesses and agree the next steps with you. Larger changes are planned and quoted as separate projects.
What helps us prepare for the first conversation
- Number of workstations, servers, and locations
- Important applications and cloud services
- Current problems and the support you want
- Known contract terms and your preferred switching date
- Available system overviews and contact people
You do not need complete documentation yet. We identify the gaps together. Please do not send passwords through the contact form; we agree a secure handover method separately.

Common questions about switching
Do we need to buy new hardware when switching?
Switching does not automatically require new hardware. We check whether your existing systems can remain in use. Necessary replacements are explained based on condition, supportability, and requirements and agreed with you.
What happens if documentation or credentials are missing?
We identify the gaps and agree which information must be requested from your current provider or the relevant vendors. Recoverable access and additional work are assessed individually. Missing information may affect the effort and schedule.
How do you work with our current provider?
With your authorisation, we coordinate the technical handover and document who is responsible for each task until which date. You remain involved in decisions. Credentials are exchanged using an agreed secure handover method.
What about existing contract terms and licences?
We include relevant contracts and terms in the plan. Together we clarify which services continue, when a handover is possible, and which discussions with contract partners are needed. Cancellations and contract changes require your approval.
Can our business keep running during the switch?
We plan the transition around your operations. Whether interruptions are required depends on the existing environment and the changes. Maintenance windows, contacts, and a fallback approach are agreed before each intervention.
What do the handover and ongoing support cost?
The initial conversation is free. The effort and cost of the assessment, handover, and setup are then specified in a quote. Ongoing support has its own agreed scope. Under the IT flat rate, projects are billed separately; setting up new devices incurs an additional flat fee, and travel is always charged separately when required.
Which support arrangement fits afterwards?
For ongoing monitoring and maintenance, see our Managed Services. For ongoing maintenance and support at an agreed fixed price, explore the IT flat rate.
If you already have an internal IT team, we agree how to divide responsibilities. The key questions are who manages each system, handles alerts, and approves changes.
